Barbeque Nation, Gurgoan is a restaurant based on the concept of live Barbeque on your table itself. And this concept found many food lovers in its favour because you can yourself decide whether the tikkas and kebabs have to be crisp or little on the softer side. Not only this another factor that attracts the food lovers is that you can eat unlimited appetizers.
This restaurant is established on two floors. The restaurant is dimly lit with yellow lamps. The decor is good and overall ambience is pleasant. There is a buffet section in the restaurant where vegetarian main course dishes and non vegetarian main dishes are kept in two separate sections. And the kitchen is visible to the diners through the transparent glass walls. There is a separate bar section where they prepare the drinks that you have ordered.
This restaurant has both vegetarian and non vegetarian food menu. All you have to do first is choose your table and a waiting staff would come to ask you your preference whether vegetarian or non vegetarian food. And according to your choice they would first give you the soups . And after you are done with your soup, they start putting the skewers loaded with the appetizers- vegetarian or non vegetarian kebabs, or tikkas on the live grill attached to the centre of your dining table. And then the waiting staff would start bombarding you with the appetizers on your plate. They will keep serving you until you stop them.
We were two so we selected vegetarian and non vegetarian menu. In the vegetarian starters I ate dahi kebab, grill potato, Marwadi paneer tikka, Mediterranean grill veg. Our non vegetarian starters included chicken teriyaki, Jamaican prawns, mutton seekh kebab and achari fish tikka. I liked non vegetarian starters more than the vegetarian starters. Among my favourites were Jamaican prawns, mutton seekh kebab and paneer tikka. Achari fish and tikka was very bland and taste and I didnot like chicken teriyaki.
Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are served. We ordered orange juice which was good. Buffet section was also not managed properly as most of the dishes were cold and not refilled.
The vegetarian dishes included paneer methi malai, aloo gobhi Masaala, corn kofta curry, Dal-e-dum, vegetable achari, veg handi biryani, garlic fried noodles and exotic veg in exotic chinese sauce. I did not like the noodles because tbey were too oily. However Dal-e-dum was tasty. The non vegetarian main course menu had only 4 items that is chicken dum biryani, kadai murgh, Chilly garlic fish and nihari dost. Taste wise these were also ok but fish dishes was tasteless.
Desserts section had many items like phirni, gulab jamun, walnut brownie, Strawberry pastry and kiwi cheese cake, cut fruit and ice cream. This section was the most mis managed. Most of the Desserts were not refilled. Only saviour was the khulfi section where many flavours of khulfi were there. Overall my experience at this restaurant was just average. And i just wish they look into few things that were drawbacks.
The waiting staff were inefficient and very slow. Only waiter that was good was Mr Sajjad. Overall i think this restaurant was mismanaged and something was missing everywhere. I so wish that the management looks into these flaws.
