I have been to many beaches of Goa but Vagator beach is different in its own way. It's unique and indeed very picturesque and beautiful.  The road to the beach all along the north goa is itself so picturesque with lots of green trees and small hills in the view.
This beach is located in north Goa and is the host of many happening  new year parties and fests. Its the ultimate party beach where  Sunburn festival which is Asia's largest dance music festival is held in the month of December. Also its a very popular beach for viewing sunset. One of my friends had visited this beach and recommended that this should be on my must-visit list for its panoramic sunset view. So once i reached Goa, I decided to see this place the very next day. After resting on the first day i started for the Vagator beach next day by the rented car. No doubt after hearing so much about it my hopes were high. And to a great extent i think the beach was unique in many ways.

First view of the beach from stairs
As I reached the parking space I realised that this wasn't like other places. We had to take about 50 steep stairs down to reach the beach. Yes u read it right... Stairs.. Isn't it something we usually don't see to reach a beach. Ok we went down the stairs and came across some flea shops and snacks on way to beach. And soon as we crossed those shops I could see a breathtaking view of a rocky beach. There were few metres high rocky cliffs that gave this beach a unique look. Well this was the first rocky beach I saw in Goa which was no doubt spectacular.
After strolling the beach and clicking pics, we finally decided to go for lunch.  This is no dearth of restaurants here. Not only this , most of the restaurants offer a great view of the beach and the sunset due to their location on the hill. I was asked by my friend to visit Thalassa so i decided not to miss it. Thalassa restaurant at Vagator beach is famous for its mediterranean food, Greek-like ambience and the lovely sunset view.

Breathtaking view of the ocean from restaurant
This was my first visit at Thalassa which definitely proved to be memorable with awesome food and breathtaking view. The ambience was something that made me fall in love with this restaurant. There are few shops selling high-end clothes inside the premises of the restaurant. And if you are in a mood for some shopping then its not a bad option too.

An overcast sky at the beach
I just couldn't get enough of this beach. After having my lunch i again alighted down those stairs to the beach. Sauntering around the beach and climbing up those small cliffs was on my mind. The cliffs were a little slippery due to some algae and moulds on them. So clambering up them is a little task about which you should be careful. However once you stand atop them and have a 360 degree you feel its just worth it. I spent a couple of hours sitting there and then on the sands of the beach admiring the nature's beauty.
Well if you ask me if all the hype about this place is worth it then i will also say its just one of the best beaches i have seen In Goa. And for the music and dance lovers this is a must-visit place as many restaurants here organise some music parties on weekends.

My overall ratings For Vagator Beach
Beauty and visit worthiness of place- 5/5
Accessibility- 4.5/5
Food availability:- 5/5

What i wore
Beach to me means you can actually experiment with a lot of looks. Bohemian look is my favourite one for a beach vacation. I had a dark grey colored crop top and a matching cotton shorts , both of which i had bought from  H& M Store in Delhi few months back but never really got a chance to wear them. Now this sounds like a boring combination for a beach outing. Yes it indeed was but i was so adamant to wear those comfortable shorts. So by adding few other things in my look i made it very beach-worthy and the look surely clicked.

Most important thing was to add the colors. I did this by wearing a long relaxed fit multi colored cape over my grey attire. The cape was predominantly blue in color with white, yellow and coral prints and offsetted the monochrome look of my top and shorts. I had bought it from an H& M Store in Delhi.  I further layered two neckpieces that covered most of my torso. I had bought the yellow neckpiece at a very cheap price from a local flea market in Delhi and the coral neckpiece was from  H& M Store in Delhi. Another splash of color was my yellow floral flip-flops. Finally i sealed my look with those blue colored reflectors that i had bought from Shoppers Stop, Delhi; and a turquoise blue sling i had bought online . This overdose of blue, yellow and coral colors definitely counterpoised those boring grey clothes.  Of course i went for a minimal make up to avoid it washing away under the beach.

Best time to visit Vagator Beach
Particularly it's best to be here around Christmas and new year eve because it's this time when  Sunburn festival is organised here.  In general, November to February is the best time to visit because its the winter season at this time in Goa. Weather is cool and expect a maximum temperature in the range of 20-25 degrees celsius during this time. Early mornings and nights are cool and breezy while afternoons are sunny ideal for getting tanned. However if you love rains and the lush green then July to September is the period for you because its the time of monsoons in Goa.

Location of Vagator beach and how to reach there
Vagator beach is located in the Northern part of the state of Goa in India.
The nearest airport is the Goa International Airport, Dabolim. It is at a distance of about 40 kms and takes about an hour to reach there. You can hire a taxi to and enjoy from airport and enjoy the scenic landscapes on way.
