Hey all...!! Hope you all doing fine. Hey first of all I really apologize for being off my blog for a while. And the reason was I was too busy with the preparations for a wedding in the family. And you know Indian weddings are all about elaborate celebrations and preparations. After all there are so many pre-wedding and post-wedding rituals and ceremonies that you actually get so busy having so much fun around. Of course my Indian readers must be aware of all these. But hey all those who aren't, must definitely attend an Indian wedding and then you surely would understand how beautiful an Indian wedding is.
Indian girls and women look their best in colourful ethnic wear and beautiful jewellery. Its also the time to watch out for the girls sporting the latest fashion trends. So being a wedding of someone really close and dearest in my family, I also wanted to look my best. And Lehenga being one of my favourite Indian ethnic outfits, I just could not think of anything better than this to wear on the wedding day. Of course on some pre-wedding ceremonies like Sangeet which is the dance night and Mehendi ceremony, I wore Salwar suits and palazzos for the comfy yet chic look. But the wedding outfit was a shaded blue silk lehenga-choli in sea green and light blue colours. I just loved its net dupatta which was in a contrast coral colour. I just loved the arched design on my lehenga. Lehenga choli was beautifully adorned with the traditional golden thread work, sequin and stone works which made it not only magnificient but heavier too. But hey once in a while its also fun to rock these heavy yet beautiful outfits , so I have no qualms about wearing it. And the heaviest lehenga in the wedding is usually worn by the Indian brides. Here the bride's red velvet lehenga was not only heavy but very pretty too with beautiful golden thread work.
For makeup I booked with the Meenakshi Dutt's Makeup Studio in Shivalik, Delhi. I had been following her on social media and really loved her makeup but never got an opportunity to book with her. But this time I decided to try my luck there. And in the beginning I was a little nervous because I was not sure if makeup here would work for me or not. And I must say I was too shocked and surprised to see my final look which I think was just too stunning. I loved my makeup which highlighted my eyes. What I loved the most was my golden smokey eyes and coral lips which definitely highlighted my features and made them look big too.
My beautiful hairdo was made by a senior hairstylist of Meenakshi Dutt's Studio and it was definitely an icing on the cake. I just loved the puff hairstyle with some light curled extentions. The fresh shaded blue orchid flowers on my back bun made the hairstyle look even more elaborate and awe-inspiring. The maangtikka or my head jewellery was very neatly placed in my puffed hair that completed my hairdo. I seriously think my look was just stunning and the hairstylist had done a decent job. Have a look at these pictures of me getting ready.
How I styled my look
I had styled my lehenga with the traditional Indian Kundan jewellery because I am just too fond of it and it looks stunning with almost all the Indian outfits. I accessorised my hair with beautiful fresh shaded blue orchid flowers that really added an oomph to the hairdo. And finally I completed my look with a golden colour potli bag that went so well with my lehenga , was easy to carry and accomodated all my essentials like phone and lipcolor.
Bride's makeup was too done at this studio by Meenakshi Dutt and she too turned out to be looking breathtakingly beautiful. I just loved how Meenakshi Dutt gives a total makeover and you turn out to be looking even more stunning. This lady is surely a makeup magician I must say and she is lucky to have an efficient and talented work staff assisting here in the makeup and hairstyle. And if you really want to discover another side of your beauty then you should definitely get your makeup done at this Studio at least once.
An Indian wedding is so vibrant with beautiful flowers and lights, so full of colours and so much beauty around. Its all about music and dance too and no wedding of ours is complete without loud music be it in form of 'Baraat' which is the groom's wedding procession; or be it in the form of a live dance floor in the wedding. There are so many rituals too on the wedding day starting right from the arrival of baraat to the 'Vidaai' ceremony where the bride bids goodbye to her family and leaves for her new home with her groom and in-laws. Have a look at some more pics from the wedding.
I am sure by now my overseas readers must have been tantalized by these pics..Guys if possible try to attend an Indian wedding when you visit India next time and I guarantee you that you will have a blast because Indian weddings are so much fun..!!
