This restaurant is located just on the exit of the DT Cinemas in the DLF Place mall of Saket. No doubt after the movie gets over, the hungry cinema goers throng this restaurant to satiate their hunger after sitting 2-3 hours in a movie theatre. And the look of this restaurant which is based on a typical Indian roadside Restaurant or a Dhaba, definitely adds to the appeal factor because we Indians are so fond of the highway Dhaba food which are famous for the fresh tasty North Indian food. This restaurant is too based on this concept however you can't compare it to the typical North Indian Dhaba because it lags so much behind in terms of quality of food served here.
After watching a movie I too landed in this restaurant for a meal. I had earlier also visited this restaurant and that time experience was average. However little did I know that this is going to be a hell of experience this time.
Ambience of the resataurant
This restaurant basically is having two levels of sitting areas. I chose to dine in at a corner table with my family at the lower level sitting area of this restaurant, The lower level sittting area is near the kitchen and is the one usually thronged by the restaurant guests. The furniture is made of the old strong wood to give a rusty feel and the lamps on the ceilings are in the shape of the typical taps found in rural India. Their cutlery is also made of the heavy aluminium metal plates to give you the feel of dining in a typical Dhaba.
The upper level sitting area has the look of a typical Dhaba and there is a truck stationed here to give the look of the dhaba or the highway restaurant. A bar is also located on this level. So the ambience is created to give you the typical desi North Indian feeling.
Now coming to the food that I ate there, my order included the following:
Highway chicken tikka is a starter dish made of spicy boneless chicken morsels served with a green herb sauce. Well what to say about this dish. What I received was an over cooked burnt chicken dish that I regretted ordering. It left a very bitter taste on my tongue and I wondered what the hell they had made. It was so pathetic. The green sauce served with it was also average and my starter dish definitely left me with a bad taste indeed.
Next I tasted the Dhaba chilly chicken which was totally tasteless and was the worst chilly chicken I had ever eaten. Definitely I will never recommend you to try this dish here. A big no. Breads which were tandoori Roti and Naan were good. But what to do with them when our main dish dish was tasteless.
Coming to the drinks now. Drinks were just ok nothing much remarkable about them. Rangeela drink which is made of lime and passion fruit was ok. Kala khatta drink which is inspired by the Indian roadside chuski, was better.
Their service is slow and not very customer friendly. I literally had to call the waiters so many times for putting a request. Really not good. They should definitely work on this aspect too.
As I had earlier mentioned in this post that I had visited this restaurant on a previous occasion too, but food that time was average and was not that bad. However this time I was really shocked to see how the quality of good had deteriorated so much. After this experience I will definitely not want to go there again because that bitter burnt taste of the starter dish is too difficult to forget.
