Festive weekend dinner is always special and definitely a time to unite with your family and have some gala time together. Well I had been longing to eat some Tandoori chicken or mughlai dish for a while and I instantly finalised this restaurant for a cozy dinner with my dear ones. This restaurant which was established more five decades back in 1960, is located in the central part of Delhi and is quite popular with the food lovers. This was definitely not the first time I had gone there and I am quite a regular at this restaurant. Why I love coming back here again and again? Well because I just love their Butter chicken which is indeed one of the best I have had in Delhi.
Ambience of the restaurant
This is not a very big restaurant and is moderately sized with some good interior work. Ambience is good with partitions also in between some adjacent tables. They have bigger tables to accomodate a medium sized family on a single table.
Food and drinks
There is a bar also here, where you can order alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Vegetarians, you don't have to be scared by their name because their food menu covers both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. So you have lots of options to try in the vegetarian dishes.
This time around I decided to skip my favourite Butter chicken and try other dishes. This is what I had ordered here this time:
Kalmi Chicken Kebab was very well presented with the foil wrapped around the bone part so that one can eat the kebab easily by holding the bone and also not let your hands get oiled in this way. Coming to the taste, I din't quite like the taste of this starter dish because the burnt taste of the kebab had overpowered all other tastes of the dish. And this burnt taste just spoilt my taste and I definitely regretted ordering this dish.
Chicken Deghi boneless is a main course gravy dish with very mild spices and is a good option in case you don't love spicy dishes that much. This dish was good and can be tried.
Both tandoori roti and naan breads were good and soft.
Coming to the drinks I just loved their Kesar wala Aam drink which was a good non-alcoholic drink. The coffee that they had served was also good.
Having eaten all this I missed their butter chicken which is definitely their best dish and should be tried at least once, if you get a chance to dine in here.
Service at this restaurant was good and prompt and there is nothing much to complain about in this domain.
What you should not miss here:
Their Butter chicken which is indeed one of the best in Delhi.
Things that the restaurant management should look into:
The cutlery served here is incomplete and the essential cutlery knife was not there. I definitely missed it and I really think that the restaurant staff should include it in the cutlery served here.
A piece of advice for the diners
This restaurant is very crowded during the festive seasons and waiting time can even extend upto an hour, so better to be early here for dinner during the festive times.
